   Format: MarkdownIt had gone down 'uncleanly' and left its lock file lying around. Added to that, when it crashed it hadn't killed off its subprocesses - there was a ruby process eating up all the memory. So I killed that process, removed the lock file, and then it restarted okay. Seems back up now (though incredibly slow; guess I'm just used to the new server!).
